Treatment Centers : Drug Rehab : Drug Treatment Center

A few insurance companies will pay for placement in an residential treatment center. Typically, the R.T.C must be accredited with the Joint Hospital Accreditation Committee (J.H.A.C.O). Approval by the J.H.A.C.O means that the treatment center meets higher standards than just being licensed as an R.T.C. facility.  Most R.T.C.'s include education and behavior modification as part of their approach.

Some treatment centers' programs last
for only 30 or 60 days. This short of a program is usually not capable of helping teens make lasting changes in their life. If you place your teen in an R.T.C., make sure you enroll him or her in a long-term follow-up program. This sort of arrangement is especially needed if the teen has been abusing substances and needs a de-toxification course.

Residential Treatment Centers and Drug Rehabs vary in price as well as length of term.  In our experience, these types of programs have the best success with troubled teens.
